Joe Maggio

I relocated to the Delaware Shore in 1996 after many years of vacationing from my native home in Baltimore.  After serving, three Mayors for the District of Columbia Government as a Computer Specialist and Grants Manager in the Office on Aging I reached my goals as one of few Employees nominated for the Employee of the Year (Theodore Hagey) in a pool of over 40,000 plus employees.

I managed and initiated many technical programs for the District including the maintenance of the Client Service Information System housed at Georgetown University.

Under my leadership of the technical department our office was hailed as a “Diamond in the Rough” for our tracking and responsiveness to the needs of the District Seniors by the current and past Administrations.

I spent my first few years at the beach figuring out where I would best fill my niche and followed my partner into the Real Estate business as a new construction specialist at many sites in and around Rehoboth Beach.  With a slight overlap in timeline I managed to work 5 years with a commercial airline during some of the most trying times in the business.  After 911 I focused all my attention on the ground and made Real Estate and Real Estate Investing my Chief focus.

Through my leadership our team, The Maggio Shields Team, has won many sales awards and established us as industry leaders.  You will find in our diverse team many educators, nurses, some doctors, community leaders, and retired professionals who like the way I do business.  We also have a full team of language specialist including Farsi, Italian, and Spanish.

I hold a degree in the Applied Sciences, am a member of Phi Theta Kappa, past President of the Russian Language Club at Juniata College.  I had been past contributing editor for the Juniata literary magazine Vassar, sponsor of Camp Rehoboth, Love, the Beebe Art Auction, appointed member of the committee formed to establish the Architectural Guidelines in Rehoboth Beach.
